Ashley loved to smile. Her deep dimples would light up the room. She loved people and blessed all she encountered with her contagious positive attitude and drive for excellence. Before high school, Ashley volunteered as a Candy Striper. She said the experience helped her to understand how important it was to help others and give back. Ashley never let obstacles hold her back from her goals, while working after school Ashley was able to maintain a 3.5 grade point average.

 

Ashley was known for her zest for life and ability to encourage others and make others laugh at her funny jokes or simply her genuine love. She encouraged all to live, laugh and love each day to the fullest.  She was a unique young lady who loved challenging Sudoku puzzles, music and spending time with her family and friends.

 

After graduation in June 2008 for Westlake High School, Ashley attended Frostburg State University in Frostburg, MD to study Accounting. In her short month at Frostburg, Ashley was a member of BURG Peer Meditator Group and had career aspirations to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). 

 

With much love and support from family and friends the Ashley Jayne’ Younger Memorial scholarship was established in 2009 as a member of Charles County scholarship fund.  The Memorial scholarship is awarded to high school seniors at Charles County schools with financial need. To date over $10,000 in scholarships has been awarded.
